How much will my pardon cost me?

Your questions through this website mean a lot to me. They are much appreciated and Impact Pardons Plus (IPP) will continue to answer them in an honest, straightforward fashion…the only way we know how to do things.

In the last 5 or 6 days, several good readers have asked, “How much does a pardon cost?”, and I have attempted to answer without actually giving a number. Here's why.

I could tell everyone $1431… preparation fee of $800 plus the Parole Board of Canada application fee of $631. (If you are the sort of person who dislikes getting into ‘details’, or ‘getting into the weeds’ about cost and expense, simply call IPP at 343 333 1778 and ask us to complete your record suspension (rs) for $1431. I promise IPP will take you on as an rs client.)

To get to the actual fee you will incur as an IPP rs applicant, we start with what is known: a very economical IPP preparation fee of $330 plus the Parole Board of Canada (PBC) fee of $631, which equals $961. To that number, disbursements (the unknowns), must be added. Disbursements include: fingerprinting, court records, local police records checks, library and archives, affidavits, letters, taxes and courier services.

It’s important to note: ‘no two applications are the same and not all applications require all disbursements.’ Court and police agencies charge different fees to find, copy, authenticate and return your records, so until your rs company knows where you have lived in the last 10 years and what court(s) you were sentenced in, arriving at an exact answer to, “How much will my pardon cost me?”, is impossible. Arriving at a very good ‘ball park’ answer is just a sit down or a phone call away with IPP. Call Impact Pardons in Kingston, at 343 333 1778 (a local call). By the way, simply knowing which court you were sentenced in is no guarantee your court records are still there…more digging may need to be done.

There’s one definitive thing I can say based on my many years of experience in the pardon/record suspension business…not getting a pardon at all, costs a lot more. Not getting a pardon may affect employment, immigration, citizenship, education, your marriage, volunteer work and ultimately peace of mind and your sense of self-worth.

You've got a friend...

Look after yourself so you can look after your loved ones. Make a phone call to Impact Pardons Plus (IPP). Move your life along the right path to independence, success and peace of mind. Don’t let something you or a loved one did 7 or 10 years ago keep you boxed in and unable to go where you want to go or to be who you want to be. Get free; reach your full potential or help a loved one reach theirs. Call 343 333 1778.

If it has been more than 6 or 7 years since you were charged, you may be eligible to apply for a record suspension today. If it has been 5 years or less, call anyway. Between us, we can figure out the eligibility date.

A couple of things to know… you do not need a pardon to apply for a passport or to apply for a US waiver. Be aware, however, just because you decide to get a record suspension (formally pardon), that does not mean you won’t need a US waiver. Talk to us. IPP can give you the facts so you can make a proper decision for yourself or for a loved one who deserves a chance. You’ve got a friend in IPP.

Give yourself a chance. Give someone you know and love a chance. Give the gift.

You and your family deserve a better tomorrow, today.

If you think you can...

Perusing my business brochure, I found this quote from Henry Ford, “If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right.” It’s in the brochure for a reason…some clients have told me they put off cleaning up their past because they thought they wouldn’t be able to get it done; jump through all the ‘hoops’, spend the time and the money only to discover a fine not paid or a compensation not met. At that point, the disappointment would be heartbreaking for them. So, getting back to the quote… they thought it couldn’t be done and they proved themselves right; it didn’t get done.

Impact Pardons Plus (IPP) can help. At IPP, it is determined before a contract is signed if you qualify for a record suspension (formally pardon). Once IPP has your permission to act on your behalf, calls are made to predetermine your status as a record suspension (rs) candidate. If you would like to definitively determine what your criminal record is, for $64.55, IPP will submit your prints to the RCMP and the information that comes back - your criminal certificate - can be used for your rs application when you are ready to proceed.

Managing Non-Convictions…

What is a non-conviction?

A non-conviction can result from a range of informal contacts with the police… perhaps as a witness, victim or suspect… or formal charges which were ultimately dismissed, withdrawn, stayed or acquitted. If you were charged with an offence but never convicted, information will almost certainly still be in a police database.  More detailed police record checks may reveal these charges for which you were never convicted.

Each police agency handles purge requests differently. Each request is addressed individually and decisions are made by the police agency based on information surrounding each individual request.

Most purge clients received a pardon (now called a record suspension) some 5, 10 or more years ago for criminal convictions but discover they still have criminal charges when they request a vulnerable sector background check. When offering to help out as a chaperone at a school function or help escort a class on a bus trip or volunteer with a community organization, that’s not a good time to discover non-convictions still on CPIC.

Let Impact Pardons Plus (IPP) help you through the hoops. Don’t let withdrawn, dismissed, stayed or acquitted charges limit your opportunities. We can discuss absolute and conditional discharges as well. Confidentiality guaranteed.

Call IPP at 343 333 1778 for assistance. Put our association with police agencies from all over Canada to work for you.

Impact Pardons Plus; for a better tomorrow, today.
