Important Notice
As of 11 June, 2015 new requirements have been put in place for Canadian citizenship. Starting June 11, 2015, CIC will only accept applications that use the new application forms. Any forms sent after June 11, 2015 not on the current, newest version of the application form will be returned as incomplete. Further, incomplete forms returned prior to June 11, 2015, may only be resubmitted on new forms. Check the CIC website for any further developments on this matter.
The Canadian citizenship photo remains the same as it has been for many years. As always, the subject should be centered left to right and the eyes should be just barely above center top to bottom. The expression should be neutral, mouth closed and no smile. Facial features must not be obscured, there must be no glare from glasses and the eyes must be clearly visible.
The applicant must provide two identical citizenship photo. Both photos be printed on quality photographic paper and on the back of both must appear the name of the studio, the studio address and the date the photos were taken. The name of the subject must be printed on the back of the photo.
The frame size of the photo must be a minimum of 35mm x 45mm and include a full front view of the head with just the top of the shoulders visible. The head must measure 31mm to a maximum of 36mm as measured from the chin to crown.
